My Journey in Photography
From the moment I held my first Kodak Instamatic as a child, I was captivated by the power of photography. My teenage years were spent mastering the intricacies of a Soviet Union-built Zenith, a fully manual camera that taught me the fundamentals of exposure and composition. Setting up my own film darkroom with an OM 10 further deepened my understanding and passion for the craft. Today, as an avid OM Systems enthusiast, I continue to push the boundaries of my skills, marveling at the advanced features modern cameras offer. My journey has been one of continuous learning, often through trial and error, with a few memorable moments, (my wife will relay the story of us getting a visit from the Police following a Black & White scene assignment. I had chosen to photograph the Wakefield, West Yorkshire, UK, High Security Prison – at night. Perhaps not the wisest choice.) . Now, with more time to dedicate to my passion, I find joy in capturing the intricate details of macro photography and the dynamic beauty of wildlife, especially birds in flight. This website is a curated collection of my favorite shots, reflecting my love for trains, history, and travel.

1970
First Camera
Received my first Kodak Instamatic camera, sparking a lifelong love for capturing moments.
A Vulcan bomber visits RAF Cottesmore in Lincolnshire, UK.
1982
Zenith Camera
Upgraded to a Soviet Union built Zenith, a fully manual camera that taught me the fundamentals of photography.
This photo, appropriately enough, was taken in Moscow late 1984 on a bitterly cold winters day, during the peak of the Cold War.

OM 10 and Dark Room
Set up my own film dark room with an early OM 10, diving deeper into the art of photography.
A photo that highlights a colonial past. Taken in Sri Lanka complete with a British style railway signal box and a venerable Morris 1000.
2015
Macro and Wildlife Focus
Developed a keen interest in macro and wildlife photography, capturing the intricate details of nature.
